Some people live life through a dictionary.

A dictionary is a group of words that uses other words, that you may or may not know, to explain words that you do not know. If you knew nothing, except how to read, and read a dictionary from front to back, you would still know nothing. How helpful is a thing like that? Not to say that it is useless, but it is a tool, a reference point. But it seems as that people will live and die by these tools, like science, and never give attention to what these reference points are actually referencing.

Let’s say you built a machine that could build houses and you used a wrench to build it. You go to show everyone this machine you built and you hear “say man, that’s one hell of a wrench you got there.” This is the society we live in. We have done many things through science. How much good or bad it is, is for you to personally decide but we have done a lot through it nonetheless. And because of that, we have a society that praises it, breathes it, lives by it, and elevates it to being something it is not. Largely because of Human Arrogance. Science is simply a tool to discover things that are already and have always been possible in the physical universe. Through science we are finding out we can do things and are so proud of ourselves for finding out these things are possible that we have equated this to us being Creators. We want to pat ourselves on the back so much that we even take credit for discovering things that other civilizations before us have discovered long ago. Ask Fibonacci or find out discovered the speed of light first or why old bones were falsely arranged to seem like an undiscovered species, etc. There are endless examples, but Science has become this race for Human Arrogance more so than a tool to truly understand the world and universe around us.

I’ll use a very rudimentary example to further my point. I’ve seen people do very impressive things with LEGOs before and I mean DAMN impressive, but its not like it wasn’t possible. As long as there are LEGOs, everything you can possibly build with it is always possible. When you build something with these LEGOs, you can tell someone how you did it, you can tell someone how you did it, you can write a book on it, lay out a step by step blueprint on how it was done. But it is simply curiosity fulfillment. Words are simply a tool for you to understand an idea better just as science is just a tool for you to understand the world better. There’s so many languages, so many sciences to indulge in, but it is important to point out that the most important thing is the ideas and the nature of the world around us. Words mean nothing in and of themselves, they only mean something when they are about something. Just as you wouldn’t do science about science, the science has to be about something.

This concept I’m presenting is just as important to words and science as it is to yourself and who you are. Now I have used words to present this idea to you. The idea that you, in and of yourself, mean nothing. We know this to be true. This is why we seek friends, this is why we seek validation, why we seek Love, why we want to be apart of something. It’s why loneliness is one of the worst feelings you can feel evidenced by the things people do to not feel lonely. You seek to be connected, you seek to be about something. Even the lone tiger who wanders alone, still hunts and still mates because it is innate in all of us to feel connected to something to give our lives meaning.

People often ask what the meaning of Life is. Oddly enough, they never look in the dictionary to find the answer because innately we know that it wouldn’t help at all and that life is much more than the nothing words alone have to offer. The things you form a bond with, whether is be people, ideas, or even objects, your life becomes about these things you connect with, so the meaning of your life is always up to you
